Do any of you younger people on the forum know that the first Vettes had inline 6 cylinders motors and a 2 speed Powerglide auto tranny?

A Good Night to be on Lake Erie

I did see the captain of the HEERENGRACHT left a post that it was his decision and not the company's to remain out while waiting to get into the Welland and with the size and freeboard of his bulk freighter they were not in danger. That was the boat out west of Buffalo in my original post.

Yes. High winds across the length of Erie has not only record waves but a seiche of around 7 feet. A lot of pictures of the lake bottom on the internet taken on the Western part of the lake. Nine boats hiding out behind Long Point. The Salty near Buffalo is showing under engine power at .2...

A Good Night to be on Lake Erie

A Good Night to be on Lake Erie, you will have the whole lake to yourself. One salty just West of Buffalo, a couple hiding out behind Long Point, Ont. And every one else tucked in close to shore.

Reminder to check gear before towing.

I am from the generation where the kids piled in the bed of the pickup with the only safety warning "don't lean against the tailgate, you know the latches are rusted and it pops open."

Many years ago when my father was in his late 60's he dropped his rod off the boat over on Speck's home lake. The water was clear enough he could see it laying on the bottom in what he figured was about 12' of water. Now my Father was a good swimmer back in his college days but now many years...

I would venture a guess that anyone on this list over 65 has at least one offset wrench that has been bent or cut and welded to be used as a distributor wrench. If you haven't seen it in a while it is probably sitting on a shelf behind that dusty dwell meter that you may never use again but...

I think at one time or another all of us have done something close to this. Those times when it is necessary to use two of the same size socket on each end of a fastener and you can only find a 3/8" and a 1/2" drive and half your tools are still scattered in another building and it is raining...

When people today complain about slow wifi they probably never had a system like this. That would have been my "state of the art" system years ago. 110/300 baud switchable depending on the dial modem on the other end. The only difference was my modem was orange rather than green display.

About a year or so ago I tossed almost a shoe box full of 5.25 floppys. This Spring all of the 3.5's. A lot of versions of Acad and other programs plus data and backup discs. After being retired for 23 years nobody calls me anymore with questions.

In preparation for my eventual demise I have been trying to cut down on some of my treasures. The crux of the problem is she identifies any thing over a year old as my junk or usually just stuff. The two things she fears most are 1) I die and she is stuck with 86 years of items I deem valuable...
