    Stripped threads on tilt cylinder??

    Bought a l981 70 HP Johnson. Found the tilt cylinder end head threads stripped. Anybody have a clue why?? or how to replace it? :confused:

    I purchased a used l981 Johnson 70 horse outboard on a pontoon boat. The threads on the tilt cylinder were damaged and someone had installed 4 set screws which did nothing more than leak hydraulic fluid into the lake. I used JB weld to seal the threads but I need to find a source for a new...
