How do I hook up a dual battery charging solenoid to a 2004 50 hp mercury efi 4 stroke motor. I believe it needs to be hooked up to the voltage regulator rectifier. My VRR has two yellow, one red and a gray wire that is not connected. Has any one have any ideas how I can resolve this.

I have a 2004 50 Hp EFI Mercury Outboard.
When my son did the winterizing last fall he said the engine oil looked like chocolate milk.
Would this be a problem with the water pump or head gasket.
