I'm a new boat owner and just purchased a 1985 Sea Ray 170 with a MerCruiser 3.0L engine. Went out today and started the engine and let it warm up a bit before shoving off. After about 5 minutes of idling smoothly everything suddenly shut down. Tried restart it but it was dead as a door nail...
