I have a 1964 lower unit for a 40 hp that is apparantly shot. Is there a range of years for that hp that will work or does it just have to match that year?
My 64 johnson 40 hp runs great ,finally, so when I took it out I was disappointed when after about 10 minutes it would no longer stay in the forward gear. it will go into reverse just great but when i try to move it forward the shift lockout lever rattles like crazy and I cannot even push it...
