I have a 175 mercury outboard motor and WHEN I GO TO START IT THE STARTER STAYS SPINNING WITHOUT THE MOTOR RUNNING IT WILL NOT SHUT OFF FROM THE KEY ONLY WHEN I UNPLUG THE WIRES OFF THE BATTERY TERMINAL. I JUST REPLACED SELENOID. WONDERING WHAT TO TRY NEXT.

Our engine is having a problem. It is hard to start and it coughs and sneezes. Whe we finally get it started it has a rough idle and it usually cuts. If we are able to keep it going then it stalls when we put it in gear. It also isn't peeing. Any ideas?
