my manual states to apply bellows adhesive only on the transom ride of the UJ bellows, but i did a ton of research and found that best practice is to put it on both sides now. The thought process is that the surface of these old gimbles can be porous. and the adhesive helps seal.
It was my understanding that using mercathode and having magnesium anodes cancel each other out by both over protecting. While using mercathode, you need to use aluminum anodes. This might be the source of your problem.
how long did you pressure test for? a small leak can take 30 min to find at 5 psi.
Do you fill the tank till it overflows out the vent, or do you stop it early? start popping hatches and find the where the smell is coming from. might be leaking form the filler neck or vent.
Two things to check. first, your gauge might be bad. Check with a voltmeter.
Second, you may have a bad ground somewhere. what you can do is trace back all the grounds and see if something is loose. check the actual batteries first. make sure the ground connection is clean. Use the...
I have a busy spring ahead of me. 1996 Donzi LXC 3250 twin 5.7 B3. I'm planning on replacing the bellows and lower shift cable on my boat this spring. I received the new 8M0095485 kits from quicksilver.
As a side note. I'm also replacing both upper steering pins with Hill marine...
I'm going to go back to the boat tomoro evening. Ill bring my moisture meter. Is there anything you guys want me to check to rule anything out?
The pictures I took, may not show it, but the crack is only on the strake, not the hull itself. Would this still be stringer related? or could it...
I had the boat lifted by the marina in a covered slip. The damage looks fresh to me. The damage is right where the sling was placed.
it is on the strake.
the boat is a 1996 Donzi 3250 LXC.
i have a couple questions. First does anyone know the lift points, as this Boat did come with a...
Update: and this is a good one.
The problem was still there. It was not vent related.
Solution: When under vaccum the tank collapses a bit. the sensor is threaded into the center top(weakest part) of the tank. The tank is 11" tall. The sensor is 10" tall. When under vacuum...

I’m getting mixed information in my searches. Specifically regarding the rpm during the timing procedure. Some say...
Threads look good. I think I fixed it. Won’t know till I get the bit back to the pump out station. When I checked the vent hose I disconnected from tank and it was clear. However I never checked the vent elbow on the actual tank, Tonight I unscrewed it, and heard vacuum, looked...
I have a threaded fireboy/xintex tank level sensor in my poly waste tank. after getting a bad smell from the boat, I narrowed it down to a loose sensor, it was unthreaded and the oring was cut. I replaced the oring, and tightened it down. Two weeks later same thing. Popped out again...
When the oil switch detects low/no oil pressure. it cuts power to the electric fuel pump. It is not gradual.
You mention that the engine is carburated. so it will not be guardian/limp mode.
If your fuel pump is electric. it could be getting tired. I would recommend installing a fuel...
