It’s been a fun project. The 1409 was easy to get it dialed in. Now on to redoing the dash and flush mounting the chart plotter and depth sounder.

Just a quick update. I got everything dialed in today. The choke is working good now that it’s getting 12 volts. It’s running so much better than before. Converting from TBI to the edelbrock 1409 is the best thing I could have done for this engine. No more chasing gremlins from the old...

That’s what I was thinking. I added a 7 amp inline fuse and moved it to the ignition purple wire. I will check it out in the morning and see if the choke works better.

I wired the purple/white wire to the top left post per wiring diagram. Checking voltage. This post only puts out 7 volts to the choke. Holly And Rochester carbs only need 7 volts for the electric choke. The edelbrock 1409 needs 12-14 volts. Can I add the purple/white wire...

Is there a better electric fuel pump than the Carter? I don’t like it that a brand new pump is leaking in my engine compartment. I have a replacement Carter pump coming. I may send it back and find a better pump.

Thanks everyone for your help. I fired it up today. With a few adjustments to the carb at idle. Dialed in the fuel pressure to 5lbs. It runs great. The Carter fuel pump is loud. I will probably replace it with a better one in the spring. Not sure which pump is better for this application...
