My 1971 Evinrude 18102 suddenly will not go above 1-2 mph. As soon as I give it throttle, the RPMs increase as expected but the boat speed does not increase. The shear pin in intact. Can go in reverse slow too. Any ideas as to the problem?
1971 18hp Evinrude with new points and condensers revs to full throttle in neutral and even runs full throttle in reverse. However, when in forward it will not open up (only goes half throttle) even though the throttle linkage is wide open/all the way down just like when in neutral or reverse...
