i am getting a boat that has a 76 merc outboard motor but it has a blown piston....i am a car mechanic so i know my way around a motor, but have never worked of a boat motor. so im wondering if its worth it to fix the motor or just find a used motor that runs?
I am new to boats....and i am looking at buying a 1976 larson 19' open bow with an outboard 90 hp merc motor, and a trailer....the guy is asking $500. my concern is that the hull paint is faded, it needs a new interior and one of the pistons in the motor is blown and the trailer needs new...
