while replacing my water pump housing i noticed that one of my studs is stripped.
Can i go with any high grade stud? Would my dealer have this part? suggestions? dimensions?

and just for piece of mind what ftlb should the three nuts on studs be at?

I am at a loss with what kit i need to buy to rebuild my water pump.
I have a mercrusier 1 drive/888 and can not seem to find the part number.
I have found two kits that say they are for mercrusiers and for some reason am a bit doubtful that my 40yr out drive...

The service manual for my 1974 mercruiser 188/888 suggests 20wt oil for the tilt/trm pump. however i can not seem to find straight 20w, or at least not at the local automotive.
The guy at the local boat shop recommended mercury brand...
