    Hello all, I have a 1979 6cyl (cdi type ignition) mercury 115hp outboard. When you move the throttle past about 20% the motor dies, however if you pop the choke for just a second it suddenly has all the power inthe world, If you throttle back and then back up your fine it is just that...

    1979 mercury 115 hp no spark to any cylinders

    Hello, I bought a boat (1983 4 winns) on it was a 1979 mercury 115 6 cylinder. The previous owner had some issues apparently and seems to have not had a degree in electrical repair.... to say the least :) anyways we have replaced the yellow/red stator wires and now are getting electricity...
