Finally got some mods/repairs done to my barge...took it out on the lake...warmed it up...cruised out...throttled it up, came up on plane quick and was running an indicated 40 MPH. Not bad for a four cylinder 165 HP, with a four bladed prop.

I have to replace my fuel pump...and every supplier tells you they need the flange number on the pump...does anyone know where that is normally stamped or have a picture of one? I have a mercruiser 4 cyl 165 with a carter pump. Also the pump has a straight lever to actuate it...the replacement...
Can anyone tell me if the pipe coming out of the oil pan is some sort of oil draining system? See attached photos...
AND can anyone tell me what kind of fuel pump this appears to be...either Carter or Mercury Marine? Getting some junk throu the clear tubing I had on it...and supposedly that...

I have beat my brains on this one...got my boat uncovered, batteries charged up, engine turned over well but no starty...fuel pump? Pulled the fuel supply line from the carb...no fuel being drawn up! Then I dummied in an electric pump and pulled all the fuel from the tank! Hate to waste...
I have a 87' Wellcraft 165 Alpha 1, with 4 buttons for trim/tilt on the remote control. My boat has two cylinders on the outdrive, non-power steering.
Can anyone tell me how these are to be operated?
