    Water pump shaft play

    How much side to side play should there be on the water pump shaft on a 1986 king cobra drive? I am changing the seal on the shaft and it seems to me that there is too much play, more than I think the seal can handle. Thanks for any help.

    Looking at a set of upper and lower mounts for my 1977 115 merc. They are out of a 1974 115, will they fit my 77? Thanks
