Upon removing the gearcase in my 1975 johnson 25 i found what looks like oil coating everything inside. When we finally got it running we noticed a black goo substance coming out from the exhaust. What causes this? Is it a blown seal or does it just need to run to clean out? Thanks for your help!
I have a 1975 Johnson 25 (25R75B) and noticed at the front there is a plug for electric start. However online I noticed a lot of people have their kill switch there. On my motor there is no stop on the tiller arm. Am i missing a part that plugs in here?
