Agreed. I was just happy to not see any heavy grooves or ridges.

I didn't take the covers off yet. I bore scoped it. The motor is outside on the boat still, I am waiting for help to get it on a stand and into the garage before tearing it open.

The bores are amazing. Full cross hatch. Zero grooves. I am impressed.

Compression results. 90 on the top cylinder and 64 on the bottom. Hasn't ran in forever so the rings may be stuck some.

Do you have a model to refer to for a coil at least? Maybe I'll pull the one off and see if I can find any numbers on it and cross reference.

And why doesn't the Evinrude site itself not recognize my model? You mentioned it being a commercial motor. What does that mean exactly?

Got it. Condition or history completely unknown. It was last registered in 2013 according to the tag on the boat itself.
