okay, so on the attached, 34 and 35 are wrong, but 36 is correct? Apparently my expert mechanic told me exactly wrongly. Thanks for the link to the manual. It was much more clear than 3A-19 in manual 4.
Trying to re-install a rebuilt pre-alpha outdrive onto my 470 Mercruiser. alignment and first gear and etc are cool. I don't understand where the large (~4 inch) o-ring goes relative to the paper gasket. First I had the 0-ring on the upper unit, and hung the paper gasket on the bolt studs...
