I tried starting a 1986 Suzuki 4hp and I could not pull the cord. I then tried turning the flywheel manuelly and it turns about 1 or 2 inches and then locks up.

Is this motor shot? What can I do?

Thanks,

My Limit

I'm currently rebuilding a suzi 4hp. It sounds like its the piston stuck in the bore. You will need to split the block for inspection. The cover on the cylinder head is a water jacket cover not a cylinder head. The power head should come off easily enough. has it been dunked or laid up for a long period ?

It's been sitting for many years. I'm trying to remove the lower unit to see if that will help, but it's stuck too. I can only get it about 3" off.

I took the flywheel off and found that a loose screw had become magnatized and was stuck under the flywheel preventing it from turning. I removed it and the motor ran great. 110 PSI on a compression test.

Thanks
