I have a 1992 115 HP 4 cyl. Reading the specs, looks like the 140 HP has the same bore/stroke, etc. What is the difference between the two motors, and can I make mine into a 140?

Re: Suzuki horsepower

This is a common question here on these forums. Many motors share the same bore and stroke but have different heads, porting, reed valves, and carburetors. The general consensus is that while it can be done it is cheaper to just buy a 140.

the only difference between the DT115 and the DT 140 is the carbs and manifold .

Better to leave it alone. If you have the physical mechanics the same as a higher HP motor, chances are that you will get longer service from it.
