1967 merc 110 9.8hp

Got the motor to run great, however it acts like a clutch slipping on full throttle. Slow her down, spinning stops and motor runs along fine. Any ideas?

JB, is right if you don't have a banging along with the slipping it's a prop hub slipping mercurys don't have a shear pins in 67

thanks for the info. Is it something that can be repaired by me or does it have to go to merc dealer?

Depending on whether you have a local prop shop to do the job,it might be cheaper to buy a new prop from the merc. dealer. They're about $60-75. Repairing will probably be 1/2 that, but if it needs to be shipped for repair, it might be a wash. Also, if your old prop is chewed up at all, another reason just to buy a new one.

appreciate the info. Whats the rubber thing behind the nut? Is there splines on the prop? Is it heated and pressed on? Hope I ain't being to much of a pest.
