1998 200 hp Merc power head rebuilt

Here is one for the experts!!!!<br /><br />After having a 200 hp v6 Merc Power head rebuild (by a pro).<br /><br />During the break in period are you suppose to re tourqe the head bolts or not? All of the books say no but the so call pro says thoes are just a guide and they need to be retourqed 3 or 4 times. This is after one of the pistons got scored again after his rebuild. <br /><br />By getting water in on of the pistons would this score the wall and how much water would need to get into the cylinder to cause this to happen? Wouldn't it of hydrolocked ?<br /><br />Keep in mind this was only run for less then 7 hours, it was the break in period that it happened.

G,day<br />The heads should be refitted by tightening with angular torques. In my experiance motors rebuilt this way do not have to have the heads retorqued.
