Power trim

I just bought a 1984 60 Hp merc.I notice 3 really heavy wires coming from the trim motor.Where do they hook to?<br />Thanks,Tom

tom24; blue to up sol.,green to dowd sol.,black is the - neg.batt. lead .hope you have the power trim control ,that is needed to energize the sol..

Tom,<br /><br />I assume this engine has an external trim pump (mounted inside the boat) with 4 hoses that run to the trim cylinders. <br /><br />The trim motor itself is as Ben has said. You should only have a red and a black that run to the battery and a 5 wire harness that runs up to the controls (or a seperate trim control panel).<br /><br />Chris..........
