tilt and trim problems

My 80 model 115hp mariner tilt and trim is malfunctioning. When i back off the trailor now the hydralic system will not hold the motor down ----any ideas

Howdy, Flatsman. When those systems get low on fluid they leave the engine up. Maybe inability to keep it down is close to the same thing. Check the fluid level.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . . <br />JB

ok I checked the fluid and it is full give me another place to look .
