Hi Folks
I read on here a while back to check for water in your VRO tank to use a turkey baster, well I did and there is water in there. This is on a 17' Seaswirl with a 115 Evinrude 95 model crossflow. The tank is buried at the back right in front of the motor, right next to the battery. Kinda hard to get to. So I will have to disconnect it and take it out of the hole to clean it out. The oil line and bulb is in the hole along with the wiring. I didn't see any conectors on the wiring. I guess they are down there some where. I was wondering if ther is any advise on doing this, as what to be carefull of etc. Also how to get or keep the air out of the line when taking it apart and putting it back together, and how fragil is the filter in the bottom of the tank.
Thanks for any help.
Jim

Re: Cleaning VRO Tank

First when you disconnect the tank you must run 50 to 1 in the tank until you verify that the motor is using oil.

The connectors might be far away from the tank. You might be able to flush it in place just remove all the oil flush with solvent and blow dry with compressed air then you remove the hose at the pump and pump the bulb until you get oil out of the line. when you hook it up while running 50 to 1 run the motor slightly above idle and the alarm should sound until the pump primes this will ensure the pump is still able to self prime
