I have just purchased a 1974 70 hp johnson outboard model 74dls-74m<br />Does it use unleaded gasoline or leaded?<br />What Octane?

50:1 unleaded 87 octane gas to tc-w3 2 stroke oil.<br />Welcome

Unleaded. Lead (TEL) did nothing for 2-strokes except left deposits.<br />87 octane gas is best for it. This is generally true of outboards, as they tend to be low compression engines. <br />EDIT: Pardon Marauderk, you beat me to it!
