cylinder top torque 9 1/2 and 18hp

Have an Clymer-manual that says 96-120 in.-lb. at cylinder head bolts. my tool has scale for ft.-lb and kgm. How many ft.-lb are 96-120 in.-lb?

Henning: Divide inch-pounds by 12 to get foot pounds.<br /><br />

Henning: With it calling for that small amount of torque you are better off with an inch-pound - Probably 1/4" drive - I think they go up to 200 inch-pounds ( abt. 17 ft.lbs.) Give you a lot better control.<br /><br />

In norway the tools are only in kgm and ft-lb, but thanks anyway. By the way, without the tool, what is the torque-settings ( 1/4 round, 1/2 round,1 round?)

without the tool there is no way to guess how many turns for the proper torque. alot of things come in to play when torquing a bolt (lube,gaskets,bolt streach,thread tapers) so you will need a torque wrench to do the job right.
