Johnson impeller removal

1996 Johnson 115 hp.<br />I am having a tough time removing the impeller on the water pump. It seems to be stuck to the shaft. Any tricks for removing these?

Get some good pentetrating oil and soak down between impeller hub and shaft.Let sit for spell and see if you can tap around on impeller hub nearest shaft as possible and see if she'll work loose.

Also, if your impellor uses the plastic halfmoon key you can sometimes try to turn the impellor clockwise on the shaft and it will release.

Walker,<br />Turning it clockwise while holding the shaft did the trick, it went click and I slid it right off.<br />Thanks a bunch, you saved me a whole lot of aggrivation.
