Motor is cold starting, once it does start and you put it in gear it dies. After 10 minutes or so on getting your timing down it will run fine until you shut if off, then when you start and try to run again its like you've got a 40 horse on the back? Have change plugs, fuel filter, cleaned carborator. Would hotter plugs do the trick? Or maybe synthetic oil?

mwilli....are you pumping the primer bulb up snug before starting and have you tried priming again after the engine has been shut down? It would "appear" to be fuel related.

Is this a problem that has just cropped up?

No, no and no. To answer all of the questions. This problemed plagued the previous owner and after $500 at the local marina seemed to fix it for the better part of last year and the beginning of this year.
I havent tried priming after the shut down, but i will. And I'll also make sure everything is snug. Thanks for the advice...we'll see what happens.

What are the compression numbers? Color of carbuator gaskets? Thermostats in?
