Batteries are fully charged. Took it out ran fine. Batteries will not stay charged. Had test done, rectifier toast (melted) got new one, installed. Second test while engine off batteries showed 12.46, while running batteries showed 12.48 and never higher. Manual shows it should reach 14.00-15.00 volts. Can someone help here.

And does anyone know if there was a recall on this engine ?????

Hi Vic...

When you made the tests, were you at idle or WOT? The output voltages will vary at engine rpms.

Don't recall any recalls on these engines.

Vic....

Let's see.....new rectifier, seems to be putting out voltage to the battery, voltage varying with rpm.....well....how bout packing a cooler with yer favorite beverage and do a water test??

Remember that the full output probably won't show up until you get near WOT.
