I have a 7 ft comeman inflatable and am wanting to upgrade to something with atleast a trolling motor. I was looking at the sevylor trolling motor and was wondering if anyone new if it would work on my coleman. the sevylor trolling motor mounts using some sort of rod or pole thing. I am trying to avoid buying a new boat and would like to hear from anyone who might know how to rig something up. thanks

Most of the Coleman inflatables are in fact made by Sevylor or Zodiac. Their trolling motor would work, however, I don't think the 7' boat has the mounting hardware for any motor. Most of these type inflatables that can handle a motor start at 10'.

letsbombfrance,

I once put an electric trolling motor on a little Sevylor. I simply made my own bracket using the one they sold as a pattern.

I made it out of plywood and used electrical conduit for the poles. It looked identical and was about 10% of the cost.
