well, need to upsize. looking at the 23' walkarounds, and want to go relatively new. the 2300 polar walkaround is very tempting- great looking boat, lots of standards, twin yamahas, and good price. everything i've read has been good, but i ran across another forum and one guy tore them up- said fit and finish sucked and provided lots of reasons. yes, one opinion, but it sticks.

any experience or opinions on this boat? has anyone else looked at them?

Re: 2004 polar 2300 walkaround

ok, i'm now convinced the post i read on the other forum was from a competing dealer. he said he chose the seaswirl 2301 and got one loaded for cheaper than the polar. well that's a joke- i see the seaswirl coming in at $55k compared to the polar at $44k with the same power.

anyway, any word on the polar????

Re: 2004 polar 2300 walkaround

I looked very, very hard @ both the Polar 23' CC & 23' Walkaround. I really liked what was inside & out. Great looking boat for the money.

I also was reading about some "issues" with Polar. I guess this was related more to their Bay series boats & this was about 4 or 5 years ago. Something major like serious cracks in the hull etc.

The Polar Offshore boats are made by Dyna something or other boats in Alabama. We have a TON of Polars in the Gloucester, MA. area & I see more & more every month. Also, my father is a boater in Florida & he spots them all over the place down there.

A friend of mine just got the 21' CC & he loves it! He bought a Suzuki DF140 & it's a perfect fit for that boat.

We didn't end up buying the Polar, although it was my 1st choice. We decided on a Eastern 24' These boats are semi-custom & built in Milton, New Hampshire.

I would consider the Polar with any hesitation.

Good luck.

Alex

I have a friend with a Polar 23 WA, we kinda shop together for that boat, he absolutely loves it. We're located in Puerto Rico, north east corner of the island, pretty high seas year round. It is a great boat over all and handles the rough ocean well. More boat for your money. When we were shopping for it last year, he was told that boat creates spider cracks on the main hull. We both though it was horse ****, it has OB engines and Polar came with 1o year hull warranty.

Re: 2004 polar 2300 walkaround

I bought a new Polar 2010 CC Bay Boat this year and am very happy with it. For the past year and a half I have shopped a few boat shows and dealers and found the Polar to best meet my specific boating demands and price point. I have it rigged with a Yamaha F150 which also performs very well.

Earlier this year Boating magazine did a review on Polar Bay Boats compared to a few other manufacturers. Overall, the review gave Polar stellar results.

Kevin
