Cubbies have destiny written all over them ... Time will tell ... They still have to play the games (and win).

All we Cubbies fans can do is Watch, hope and pray. But what a game last night. I'll admit I thought they were done and turned off the TV in the middle of the 8th. The checked the score on the internet. Top of the 9th, 2 on nobody out, turned the TV back on.

Ye of little faith! Actually, I almost bailed, too, after staying up WAY to late the night before...

Not to derail the topic, but I'm more excited about the Blackhawks home opener tonight against the Blues! NHL is back!

Agreed with up way to late. Giants were dominating but the Cuds don't quit!
Agree also on the NHL. I've all but given up on the NFL and the constant commercials and the biased announcers and now with the other thing at the beginning of the game.

I'm pulling for the Nat's vs. Dodgers in the NL and the Indians in the AL. Just thankful it's not going to Fenway as I think that wall would kill the Cubs if they get that far.

And Crosby is probably out for a while with concussion like symptoms ... another injury year for the Champions???? I hope not! Since the Pirates had such a dismal year ... pitching was their nemesis ... all phases, starting, middle relief, and closing after they got rid of Melancon (stupid move from a team that has generally been making shrewd moves) ... I will root on the Cubbies and keep my sights on back-to-back Stanley Cups! Go Cubs!

So if it comes down to the Dodgers and the Cubs who do you think has the advantage? If they play all night games it's going to get mighty cold in Wrigley after dark..
I honestly think the Cubs have an advantage but it comes down to who is hot at the moment, especially pitching. The way they have so many games off it helps the team that only has a few good starters so who knows. It definitely helped a team like the Giants a few years ago which allowed Bumgarner to pitch more games than he would have if the games were played closer together.

First have to get by the Nationals. If Rich Hill can pitch well on short rest, Dodgers have a chance.

I'm a Cubs fan, so of course I have a vague sense of foreboding, no matter how well the team is playing!

Seriously, though, if the Cubs were able to beat the Giants with fairly cold hitting from the top of the lineup and somewhat cold pitching from their starters, I'm feeling pretty good about their chances. Agree with Bruce that much of it comes down to who gets hot, though...

How many years throughout Cubs history of losing has that statement been said, nothing against the Cubs. In fact, I'd love to see them win. America's Team.... :)

Last 100+ win team to win World Series was 1998 Yankees. So...basically, if you win 100+ games you are screwed!

But it has been done. More than once. Either way it's great to see some teams in it that are normally never or rarely seen in the playoffs.
