Hello
I bough this boat last fall (1988 mercruiser MCM 3.0 liter 4 cyl GM block) the guy that sold it to me told me it ran great, he told me no water in the engine oil, I ask him to winterize the boat for me so we did.
Today after fixing a starting problem (corroded terminal wire) I put the Earmuffs on the drive and she started right up.
The problem is I have oil mixed with water coming out at the back of the engine Dripping heavily behind the starter my bilge was a mess with vanilla milkshake. Checked dipstick I it was very low.
Oil leak plus water in oil does not sound good to me.
Since I can’t look under engine what do you guys think the problem is?
Seal? Oil pan? Or worst?
Thanks for any help
Gabriel

Re: oil in the bilge

Is that milky oil coming from the engine or the drive area?
Pull the drive and look in the bellows. Also look in the valve cover of the engine. Which one has milky oil?

the milky oil is coming out "behind the starter" I can see it dripping down, oil dipstick is low so i figure it has to be engine oil? Dipstick also looks oil white.

I am guessing it sounds like a yoke seal. It is a common issue and not serious

That is until i read the part about the dipstick :)

Who knows.
You haven't pulled the drive and looked.
I know you said where it looks like it's coming from, but do some checking before you condem the engine.
