This may be a stupid question but i was wondering, on my 2006 Bayliner with a 5.0L Mercury Alpha One, the skeg itself is cast aluminum right? Or is it steel?
Not broken, but scratched up a bit so I thought as a winter project i would finish it up. My understanding is a 220 grit sand paper, some degreaser, then zinc chromate and then paint. My understanding tho was that the chromate was for aluminum and zinc phosphate was for steel, so I thought i would clarify what primer to use.
