Have a 2008 Hurricane 217, as does my neighbor, we both are dissatisfied with the way both boats get up on plane. Both have 150 Hondas. Any experience with this setup ? Doelfin or repitch ? As the boats come up on plane, the Hondas
pick up 700+ or so rpm. This is at WOT. Any help appreciated.

Re: Slow planing

I have an older boat that was having a tough time getting on plane. I installed smart tabs. The difference is night and day. There are many testimonials on this site. Here is a link to the maker... http://www.nauticusinc.com/

Re: Slow planing

I have 17" P x 14.25" stainless prop, and stainless Smart Tabs. My Hurricane 202 is on plane close to immediately. Plus it stays on plane at very low speeds. 13-15 mph. I highly recommend Smart Tabs! BTW the 80 lb actuators were to much, I ended up running 60's.

Re: Slow planing

Need performance numbers to answer this. RPM at WOT and Speed (GPS would be best).

But I am going to stick my neck out and scream "NO HYDROFOIL" on a 21+ footer. I'll come down there and uninstall them while you are not looking . . . :)

I'm better now. And I'lkl add that I believe all V-hulls shoudl come standard with trim tabs. Helm adjustable or passive, I don't really care a whole lot . . .
