Re: How much is a evinrude bandittwin worth
The evinrude bandittwin was used in most cases for the getaway boat after robbing people aboard steamboat casinos back in the day. It was the in-between horsepower model kind of like a commercial model. I believe it was made just before the fastwin and superfastwin. They were only a 1-year model because the bad guys kept getting caught due to the slow speed and the general crooked public no longer wanted them. The next model was thenceforth referred to as the fastwin, or more commonly known as the fasterthanthefuzztwin. Unbeknownst to the crooks, the cops all had early access to the next year model called the superfastwin, which resulted in an almost complete eradication of the riverboat pirates, as the owners of bandittwins were called.
Due to them being a one-year-only model and the fact that most bandittwins were destroyed or sunk by lawmen, and due to the fact that they were the only black evinrude ever manufactured, true surviving bandittwins are highly collectable and worth anywhere between a googleplex and infinity dollars. You could probably buy a functional Saturn V rocket for less money.
Sorry, but I had to join in on the fun and the heat is getting to me a little here in the South.
I'd say the handitwin might be worth about 150-300 bucks, if that's what you have. You can even buy reproduction decals from nymarine.ca
All in fun...
