Re: Confrontational Posts
Some seem to see it as confrontational anytime another person disagrees with them. I see it as an opportunity to pass on knowledge and correct false assumptions, or learn something new depending on which side of the disagreement my beliefs fall ....
You've got to remember it's the internet, anyone can post anything or claim anything they want. As Bruceb58 says, if a thread bothers you, then don't post in it or read it. If a particular poster bothers you, use the "Ignore" function in the Control Panel and you won't even see their posts anymore. If you don't get to read this because you've already got me ignored, then "Oh Well"!
This forum is a "nice, fluffy, feel-good" forum. Kind of like the kids T-ball and soccer games where nobody loses (right!). No real discussion takes place here, it might offend somebody. That's the way the owners want it, you've got to remember they're in business to make money and don't want to lose any potential customers. Lots of times you'll learn a lot more at some of the other boating forums depending on what you want to discuss.
