We have a 2002 Crownline 225 BR. Two weeks ago we started having trouble with it cutting out. We decided to change the fuel/water seperator filter. We then took it back to the lake and it seemed to be running better. When we took it back out yesterday it hesitated to start but then ran really well. We decided to throw an anchor out, when we tried to start it up to leave it wouldn't start. We finally got it started but it kept dying until we finally had to get pulled in.

There isn't water in the fuel, we checked the inline fuel filter. The only thing we found not working is the Sea Water Pump. Could this be the cause of the problem? Please let me know any suggestions.

If that pump sends the water to cool the engine , then Yes.
You were running it very hot and may have a bad head gasket
