Wanting to build a wood side console for my G3 15', 1548 with 25 Yamaha tiller. Has to be small. I want to mount to the side and floor so I can mount my depth finder and GPS on the top side, and 2 switches for lights and bilge pump on the front side, with a small shelf underneath. I have seen several alum but they are too big. I want something simuliar to a Boston Whaler console. So if anyone has any plans, ideas or pics they would like the share, please email . thanx.

Memory serves me right, that pic is from a Boston Whaler, right? It looks like the side rails that holds the console and the seats in place.

Check Carolina Skiffs website under the accessories tab. They sell pretty small fiberglass side consoles for their 14' and 16' boats that may work. See below link:

I believe the picture is showing the center console. They do sell a side console, you have to call them for the info on it.

Tis me from 2coofishing.com. Did not get any response from 2cool on my console, so I just designed my own and built it. Still working on it. Putting GPS, depth finder on top, and the center has 2 switches, one for lights and other for bilge pump. Process of moving battery from front to under the console. The paint looks real bright, but I took pic at nite, so had to brighten it up in my software, but it matches the boat fairly well.see below.
I forgot, got some ideas from another forum tinboats.net. they are all about alum. boats.

Re: Wooden side console, anyone build one?

Not a very good picture, and not the same kind of boat, but the side console in the boat pictured was made of plywood. I don't have the boat anymore so can't get you any better pictures. I made this console when I converted the boat from tiller steer to console steer. I didn't use any plans, just cut out what looked good to my eye. I then sealed the plywood with an epoxy sealer and then covered with vinyl and carpet. This particular one required 2 holes through the hull above the waterline at the front and rear top corners of the console. Hope this helps.
