2001 225 ox66 , max rpm's ?

just bought a boat with a ox66 what is the correct max rpm range?. and is it suppose to run alittle rough at low rpm's? maybe run on 5 instead of 6 to save fuel?..

No owners manual? My 01' 150 is 5500. The book says 4500 to 5500 but from what I have learned on this site is you need to be in the upper end. That said, it should run no problem at those RPM's all day, well, except for sucking fuel. I have never had mine above 5500 and I'm not sure what the rev limiter is at. I have heard 6000 but don't go by me, I'm not an expert.
