Yeah, just joined here and was wondering if anyone has a similar problem. I have a 115 hp 2001 Johnson and at WOT it feels like it has the hickups! Between 5 and 10 seconds (and not consistant) it bangs like someone is hitting the back of the boat with a sledge hammer. I first thought it was the prop so I bought a brand new one (not a rebuilt) and it still does it. Now I'm leaning toward the lower unit. Or could the ignition be cutting out for a split second. I can see very fine shiny particles on the magnet but I've seen worse on others. Has anyone ever had this problem?
