Purchased this unit recently. Starts perfectly idles smoothly, and pushes my 16 foot lund across the lake at 27 mph... The pee hole stream is full strength once the we get moving at higher RPMS. But when we slow down to a minimum idle forward, say trolling speed, the pee hole begins to produce steam and we get white smoke out the exhaust. I've never had a unit with a tattle tale stream that didn't produce all the time.. Also, would an unit of this type have any overheating buzzers? THANKS! Just thought of this... Could it be that we had too much weight in the front of the boat, and that at trolling speed the engine was higher out of the water????

Since this rig is new to you I would start off by replacing the impeller and thermostat.

I have one of these its time for a water pump. should be strong and constant. There not the easiest in the world to do eather with the way the shift shaft is set up.
