Water leak at # 1 spark plug??

I have a inline 6 o/b did a compression test all cyls are between 110 /115 ...noticed water leaking at # 1 spark plug.. when running...when plug removed and engine turned over it is misting out *** any suggestions/hints ideas are greatly appreciated...thanks again..........Lifes a bore from the shore!!!!

Sounds like you have a bad water jacket / head gasket. The only bad part of the job is all the bolts that brake.

yep - replace the exhaust cover gaskets and the water jacket gaskets - teh exhaust cover bolts usually dont break but the water jacket ones do - and when you pull the water jacket cover look at it and make sure its not warped and dont overtighten the bolts when you put it all back together - if you break the bolts you will probably have to drill them out as an easy out seldom works here -

Do yourself a favor and use some siliicone around #1 plug to stop the leak. It is not worth it to replace the gasket and break the bolts. There is also no reason to replace the exhaust cover gasket at this time. If you have water in the combustion chamber and on the spark plugs, then it is time to consider replacing the exhaust cover gaskets.

I only broke six bolts on the inside exhaust cover, and none on the outer exhaust cover, but it still was a heckofajob to drill and retap the broken bolts. A friend of mine broke over 20 bolts doing that job...
