Hello,

New to the boating world. I have receltly bought a project boat, couple questions I have are 1) Can I swap in a ford 351 for the current 302 that is in my boat, the current engine for what ever reason will not turn over. The person who I got it from thinks it may be electrical, but the boat has sat for a year and the current engine is a bit tired and corroded. Can I use anothe small block ford and just use the marine parts i need. The boat is a 19' fiberform inbord ford omc v8 and the omc out drive. I dont seem to get any power to the rear of the boat. Engine will not turn over and the power tilt outdrive will no move. Any help or suggestions on these matters would be of big help to this boating newbe. thank

Ayuh,... Anything is Possible,...
But,... I see several Issues...
1st off,.. You've got an OMC Stringer drive....
2ndly,... From the tone of your post, it appears you're lacking the know-how to accomplish the task...

You say the motor is abit Tired,... Based on What diagnosis,..??

Try turning the motor over by hand, that will let you know if it's locked up or not. Requires a 15/16" socket and a decent length breaker bar on the crank bolt I believe.

Pull the spark plugs out so it is initially turning w/o compression....... you could be hydro-locked

Re: Engine swap/Or electrical

If you have NO electrical now a new engine won't help that at all.

Check your 50A fuses. There are 2 of them on the engine harness.
