i have 1975 25hp johnson dont see a rectifer for charging did these engines have charging system? if not is it possible to put one on?oh it is eletric start

It does not have a charging system, and it cannot be fitted with one. At least not without an awful lot of work, parts changing, and $$$$$.

thank you i wasnt for sure didnt see the parts on there lol, what do u think of a small solar panel to help with fish finder and starter think it would help discharge

I keep a small solar panel on my battery on the pontoon all summer and never have to manually charge the battery. A 25hp (in my case a 35hp) only draws current during starting. So they don't really run the battery down very fast. A solar charger works great.

I also used a roughly 1' square solar charger on my pontoon boat last summer for my 25hp and I never had t charge the battery once. It works great.

thanks guys i just got to decide what watts to buy dont really want to spend to much money and a big panel in the boat i need the room for the big fish i catch lol thanks again
