i cant find a pull start assembly for this motor. is there another year that would fit this model.

Quite possible, problem is being able to cross reference part numbers back from 1952. There is an ask a member part of the aomci site , many of the gents on the site, Garry for example, seem to have every parts list made. I needed one for my 55 5.5, just so happened a 54 fit but the seller knew it would, he contacted me from my posting on that site.

I believe 1950 and 1951 are the same as yours.

1953 may also possibly work. I believe it was 54 when they redesigned the 7.5

1952-53 are the same. Earlier ones have a slightly different top housing.
