Half Torsion Axles (Which ones)

Hi,
Need opinions on which Half torsion axle to get.
I have a 1993 bayliner capri 1800
weight is around 1800# or so with aluminum trailer and fuel im guessing around 24 to 2500# total. My tow vehicle for close trips will be a 87 fj60 toyota lancruiser 3500# tow cap.
Here is the ?
I can either get a 2000# half axel or a 3500# half axle.

Sadly nothing in between.
I assume more is better but what about the ride?
Is it going to bounce around with the heavier axle.
I believe the trailer currently has the 2000# axels
Anyway thanks for any Input.
