I have 1985 ceria bayliner the steering is very hard there is no power steering does anyone have a fix or has added hydraulic to this type of boat it has inboard 350 with volvo leg.

When was the last time the steering cable and helm was replaced? Outdrive pivots greased? I'd guess the cable and helm is original. I'd start there.

unhook cable from back and see if it is stiff, then do so with the other end and see if helm is stiff.

Welcome to iboats.

As stated unhook your cable and se how stiff it is, i think a new cable and some grease will fix this for you.

You can add Hydraulic but a base system is $1000, a cable and grease are WAY less than that.
