lower unit leak?

hey guys my 140 looper when hooked up to muffs is leaking water from where the lower unit meets the midsection of the outboard. is this normal?

I think that is normal , i have had that happen to mine but i dont use the earmuffs i use the inlet my motor has , if it leaks with my 90hp that way im sure its fine ....
Want to know if your lower unit is leaking , take out the small screw on the bottom of the lower unit , on the right side , there is one below the prop and one above it (you cant miss it), pull the one below a few turns and see what the oil looks like if it looks like water you have a leak ..... simple anough ..

It's not a sealed joint so a small amount of leakage is not uncommon and no problem. Look closely there may even be a small drain hole along the joint somewhere.
