Almost impossible to trace wires from back of vro pump. I have a 89 evinrude 40hp. I found 1 set coming from the general vicinity with 3 wires and another set with 4 wires. Both have connectors but I'm not sure which one to pull.
I really don't want to disconnect but there is no mechanic in my area that knows anything about these pumps. It cost me 300 Dollars for them to tell me the oil side was not working. I have noticed that it was using very little oil and am concerned about the motor. They disconnected today and everything is fine but I hear a gasping or sucking type noise while at trolling speed. Any thoughts
